Clear waters soon become murk.

Today we see the spectacle of clear waters running down Melt Creek converging into the silt laden Tatshenshini river. The additional water pumps up the volume.

On our way to camp we collect firewood as we get closer. This wood burns easily and with little smoke. It's broken by the raging waters so there is no need for an axe or saw.

Excitement as pause to look in the mud.  The owner of illustrated print is nowhere to be seen.

An eagle is perched up high. My little camera somehow manages: I barely capture it as we are racing past. It is a tricky exercise taking photos in a packraft because as soon as you let go of the paddle you spin and you are at risk of losing it.

The water is really racing here. We work hard to follow the leader and to find our way across.

Rapid action is required to secure the rafts, and the water is rising as the day progresses. The warm weather melts the frozen tops on the mountains increasing as the day progresses.

The shore is quite high above the water the soil is loose so it's a bit of a scramble to get up.

This location is something else. We are all spellbound.

When it comes to finishing up our meals we chip in. As guests we felt it was unfair that hour hosts do all the work. I am grateful that this is the manner of the group.

The other internal pontoon anchor was leaking so it was time to do some more repair with a glued patch.

Our river was big and now it is big and tomorrow we're told it will be big !  The superlatives: it must be the fresh air.
